Below are some examples of my standard insert wordings to help you with your stationary order. If you prefer you can create your own wording for a personal touch. If you do require your own please indicate on the order form and provide your full message on a seperate sheet of paper and attach to the order form.

Please note that your final insert layout may vary from the examples shown depending on the stationary design and typeface you choose.

Menu, Order of Service & Order of the Day Examples

As each wedding day is unique to the wedding couple the Order of Service, Order of the Day and Menus are created uniquely for each wedding based on the details and wording supplied by the customer. Please confirm your insert details once they have been agreed with the church or wedding venue.

As a general guide an Order of Service tends to flow as follows:
  • Entrance music for the bride
  • Hymn
  • The Marriage Ceremony
  • Prayers (optional)
  • Readings (optional)
  • Blessing (optional)
  • Hymn
  • Reading/ Blessing (optional)
  • The Signing of the Register
  • Exit music for the bride & groom
The actual layout of your Order of Service will need to be approved by your minister prior to providing us with the details.

Copyright- Hymns

Once you have chosen the hymns for your wedding it is your responsibility to check whether you need to obtain permission from any copyright owners prior to us printing your Order of Service. If any fees are due for this permission you must pay this direct to the copyright holder, which is usually a between £10 and £25.

Copyright lasts for 70 years after the death of the writer and it is illegal to reproduce (e.g. printing the words in your Order of Service) without permission from the copyright holder (or their appointed agent). Although many hymns are out of copyright due to their age, there are still some that are under copyright. To determine if a hymn is under copyright you can check the information at the bottom of the hymn or search the internet. Your church should be able to assist.

It is worth checking with your church to see if they hold a 'Church Copyright Licence' as the copyright fees may be waived on some hymns.

If you are still unsure over a hymn you have chosen you could use the hymn books provided by the church and have the hymn title and page number printed in your Order of Service.

Once you have selected the wording for your inserts you will then need to decide on the typeface that suits your taste.
